de la Soul - De La Soul is Dead är det andra studioalbumet från Long Island hip-hop-trion de la Soul, släppt 1991. Detta album cementerade de la Souls position som en av hip-hoppens mest originella, autentiska och kreativa grupper.
Efter den snabba framgången med deras debutalbum "3 Feet High and Rising" 1989 fortsatte de la Soul att bevisa sig själva med De La Soul is Dead. Albumet producerades återigen av den visionära producenten Prince Paul och visar de la Soul som tar sitt sound till nya höjder.
De La Soul is Dead blandar hip-hop, alternative hip-hop och jazz rap för att skapa ett sound som är både innovativt och tidlöst. Albumet landade på listor runt om i världen, nådde #26 på Billboard 200, fick ett fem-mic-betyg i The Source och blev certifierat guld av RIAA.
Till denna dag anses projektet vara ett av gruppens bästa album och har lämnat fans med flera certifierade klassiker som "A Rollerskating Jam Named 'Saturdays'", "Ring Ring Ring (Ha Ha Hey)" och "Keepin' the Faith", samt "Oodles of O's", "Talkin' Bout Hey Love", "Pease Porridge", "Millie Pulled a Pistol On Santa" och många fler.
